SWIMMING POOLS
Bespoke swimming pools, built as part of the property.
For a substantial home, a swimming pool should be more than an addition to the garden. It should feel considered from the outset, carefully positioned, beautifully constructed and designed to sit naturally within the wider property.
At Ardenmere Construction, we build bespoke outdoor swimming pools for private residences across Kent and Sussex, creating spaces that complement the architecture, landscape and character of each individual property.
Our experience in high-quality residential construction means we approach swimming pool construction as part of the property itself, rather than as a separate installation.

01 DESIGN
Designed for the setting.
Every property is different, and every pool presents its own opportunities.
The position of the pool, its relationship with the house, the garden and the surrounding landscape all influence the finished result. Levels, sightlines, materials, access and the character of the existing property are considered as part of the overall build.
For new homes, extensions or larger renovation projects, the pool can be incorporated into the wider construction programme from the beginning. On established properties, we can carefully integrate a new pool into the existing landscape and architecture.
Where planning permission is required, we handle it. We are experienced in listed buildings and conservation areas, and we will tell you early on whether a pool falls under permitted development or needs a full application.
3D CAD VISUALISATION
We work closely with each client throughout the design process, developing the pool around the way they want to use the space.
Where helpful, we produce detailed 3D CAD visualisations so you can see the proposed pool within its setting before construction begins, and refine the details before work starts.
The result is a pool that feels like it belongs.
02 CONSTRUCTION
Built to last.
We build each pool specifically for its setting, giving flexibility over its size, shape, depth, finishes and surrounding areas.
From the structure itself through to the finished interior, coping, paving and terraces, each stage is approached with the same attention to detail that underpins all Ardenmere projects.
Not simply a beautiful pool, but a considered part of the property that will be enjoyed for years to come.

03 POOL BUILDINGS
A pool house, pavilion or pool building.
A swimming pool can become the centre of an entire outdoor living space.
Where the project calls for additional facilities, we can also construct a bespoke pool house, pavilion or pool building to complement the main house and create a dedicated space for changing, entertaining and relaxing.
These are built properly, in masonry and to the same specification as the house, rather than delivered as a garden room.
Depending on the property and how the space is intended to be used, this might take the form of a simple changing area, a more substantial summer house or a fully equipped pool building.
The architecture, materials and detailing are carefully considered alongside the pool and its surroundings, creating a natural relationship between the building, garden and main house.
04 PROJECT MANAGEMENT
One construction team.
A pool project can involve considerably more than the pool itself.
As an established residential construction company, Ardenmere can manage the wider construction works alongside specialist pool contractors, helping ensure that each element is properly integrated and that responsibility remains clear throughout the project.

05 THE RESULT
An investment in the way you live.
A well-designed pool creates more than somewhere to swim. It provides a setting for entertaining, relaxing and spending time outdoors, while adding another dimension to the way a substantial property can be enjoyed.
Something that feels completely at home within the property, is beautifully built, and will remain an asset for many years to come.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Swimming pool construction questions, answered.
Do I need planning permission to build a swimming pool?
An outdoor pool in a domestic garden often falls under permitted development, but it depends on the site. Listed buildings, conservation areas, flood zones and pools close to a boundary usually need a full application, and any pool building or enclosure has its own rules. We assess this at the outset and tell you which route your project takes before you commit to anything.
What does a swimming pool cost
to build in the UK?
There is no single figure, because the pool is only part of the job. Size, depth, structure, interior finish, plant, heating, cover, paving and landscaping all move the number, and ground conditions can move it further. We price each project properly after a site visit rather than quoting a headline figure that changes later.
What is the most expensive part of installing a pool?
Usually what surrounds it. Excavation, spoil removal, the structural shell, retaining works where levels change, and the terraces and landscaping that make the pool usable will typically outweigh the pool equipment itself. This is precisely why we approach a pool as a construction project rather than an installation.
How long does a pool take to build?
Most outdoor pools run to several months on site once planning and design are settled, and weather and ground conditions both play a part. Where the pool forms part of a wider build, it is programmed alongside the rest of the works rather than treated as a separate job at the end.
Can you build a pool at a property you are already working on?
Yes, and it is the most straightforward way to do it. If we are already carrying out a new build, extension or refurbishment, the pool can be designed into the programme from the start, which avoids a second round of groundworks, access disruption and reinstatement later.
Do you work with specialist
pool contractors?
We do. Specialist pool systems are installed by specialists. What Ardenmere provides is the wider construction, and a single point of responsibility across groundworks, structure, services, paving, landscaping and any pool building, so the elements are coordinated and nobody is pointing at anybody else.
